"Let's support Men in Trees"
Here is what Anne said recently on her website (Posted on October 31,2006).
"My producer, Jenny Bicks told me last night that there are more comments written in about "Men In Trees" than even "Grey's" on the ABC web sight and I can't help but think that has something to do with YOU! WOW! You know how cool that is? Just so you know...people pay attention, so whatever you are doing to keep the show on the air, please keep it up and know that we are all aware. It makes a difference to the people who make decisions over there and it really makes a difference to me. I know it takes time to be dedicated and write in and my appreciation soars."
She added :
"We have been extended in our scripts, I know you all know that already, but that doesn't necessarily mean they will pick us up. We wait on the edge of our seats. The cast, the crew so heavily invested in our future, it's really a nail biting time, but we all believe and you all know how important and powerful belief is. So gather with us on this night of scary saints and goblins and send the bad spirits of cancelation away to wake the morrow with word of nine more. "Nine moooore, Nine mooore!" At least thats what my ghosts will be saying tonight."

So, keep supporting the show and send your feelings to ABC.

"The Jimmy Kimmel Show"
In her official website Anne thanks all the Fannes for sending her flowers. Here is what she said on October 31 :
"Let me first tell you that the gorgeous roses sent to Kimmel touched my heart. It was so surprising in fact that I thought they were playing a joke on me and I didn't understand until after the show that they were truely from you guys. How 'bout that? Kimmel was so confused that I thought he was trying to pull one over on me. And his producer was unclear back stage until I walked off and said, "Are you kidding me? Did they really do that?" He said, yes and that he had never in his whole time as a producer seen that done before. So how 'bout that? You floored them with your love. So much so that you got Kimmel to stutter. Yahoo for you, you've been a first. So first, Frist...Anne's Fannes ROCK! Had I understood I would have certainly given you a better shout out on the show. I didn't think we were so hard to understand, but then, if we weren't a little different, we wouldn't be us, would we?" Anne Heche.

"Interviews"
Here are some excerpts from interviews that Anne has done:
From www.bradenton.com
Heche and her husband, photographer Coleman Laffoon, have worked out their own lives in a unique way. She's the breadwinner; he does everything else, including the finances, most of the cooking, caring for their son and consulting on her career. "It works really well for Coley and me," she enthuses. "He's great at running the household, being the stay-at-home-dad, being sure our business, our finances are in order. And I'm really good at going off and bringing home the paycheck . . . I think there are so many women who probably would be better just going out and getting a paycheck and men who'd really like to stay at home and be - it's not just father to children - it's a commitment to a life together."

From www.dailynews.com
Coley, she says, has become a stay-at-home dad "He has a much more difficult job (than camera work), caring for Homer. He is my partner in life and makes it possible that the three of us are together wherever we go." It's a move that was years in the planning. "From the time we married," she says, "We talked of how we could establish a great foundation for a child - with the goal being that by the time the youngster was in kindergarten, we wouldn't have to be moving all over the world with my movie career." She adds, "I started talking to Peter Roth (president of Warner Bros. TV) about a series for myself, since my husband and I decided it was time to have a family, and Peter set about looking for the right project. Fortunately, he made 'Men in Trees' available to me, and I love it." She says the show, in which her character settles down in an Alaskan hamlet where the men outnumber women 10 to 1, will be shot on location in Vancouver for five months - and hopefully more than that if the network expands its order for the show from 13 episodes to 22. She'll also be happy, she feels, if she's shooting "Men in Trees" 10 years from now - very possibly with an enlarged family. "It would be wonderful," she says about the thought of another child. "I don't imagine we would write the pregnancy into the story line, but the beauty of TV is that series have hiatuses, and, well, we could figure out a way to make it happen without affecting the story."

"Men in Trees."
Last Wednesday, Anne attended a press conference for Men In Trees. Reporters asked many questions about the show, about animals in the show and about Anne's sanity!

About her sanity: (referring to her Fresno "meltdown" in 2000 )
Reporter: "You seem to be very much at peace with yourself. You've obviously turned some corners in your life. Can you give us kind of a status report of how you're doing and everything? It seems like you're totally ... (he struggled with the way to ask the question) Heche jumped in with a crazy look in her face and jokingly barked, “Sane?”

"Sane," he confirmed, with more than a little relief that Heche herself had said it.

she also added:
"I've stumbled through and made so many mistakes, I'm pretty good with where I am," she said "I am a person who takes a lesson from hopefully everyone I meet."

about "her" show
"It seems like the greatest job on Earth, and I've been trying to get it for the last five years," she said. "I, with my family, decided that this would be most the most incredible thing for me to be doing in my life, and it's happening."

About animals in the show:
A raccoon named Elvis (the raccoon's real name, not his TV name) has a pretty significant part in the pilot for Men in Trees, which led to a lot of near-surreal talk during the session.
"That is the very best raccoon," creator Jenny Bicks said. "If anyone ever wants to hire a raccoon, call me. ... We also had a dog in a raccoon suit for the shots when the raccoon was running down the stairs, because raccoons don't really run. They lope. So we have Boomer the terrier, also a fine actor."
Huh? The raccoon had a dog as a stunt double?
"That is correct," Bicks said. "However, I would not tell the dog that. The dog thinks its stunt double was the raccoon. It's complicated."
Later, a reporter asked: "A raccoon is a nocturnal creature -- and they're also really irritable. They really are, so do you wake them up during the day if you have to film during the day? What is that like to take them and film them?"
"We had to wake him up," Bicks said. "Anne [Heche] had to spend some time with Elvis alone. They were doing some petting and other things. It's how she gets to know her fellow actors, and I let her have that space."
Anne Heche
Elvis
“Best actor I have ever worked with,” Heche said.

Topic:
By George Bernard Shaw, starring Teri Garr, Anne Heche, and Jeremy Sisto.
The beautiful and headstrong Raina eagerly awaits her fiancé's victorious return from battle... but instead meets an enemy soldier who seeks asylum in her bedroom. This is one soldier who definitely prefers romance and chocolate to the heat of battle. War may be raging on the battlefield, but it's the battle of the sexes that heats up this extraordinary comedy and offers very different notions of love and war. The broadcast includes an interview with "Arms and the Man" director and L.A. Theatre Works Associate Producer Brendon Fox.

"Masters of Sci-Fi: Jerry Was a Man."
According to Anne who posted a message in her official website, she will participe in a series called the "Masters of Sci-Fi" for the ABC Network at Vancouver, Canada. She will play in the episodes called "Jerry Was a Man" the seventh richest woman in the world in the year 2099.
Robert A. Heinlein's book "Jerry Was a Man" (1947) has been adapted by Michael Tolkin who also will be the director.
This is a short story, concerning the attempt by a genetically modified chimpanzee to achieve human rights. The main theme of the story is civil liberties, in this case extended towards a group of genetically enhanced chimpanzees to allow them equal rights under the law, one of the first examples of science fiction addressing questions that troubles contemporary society. The final work, "Jerry Was a Man", concerns the true nature of humanity. Mankind, with the help of Martians, has learned to genetically modify animals to the extent of making unicorns or six legged dogs. Monkeys and apes have been modified to perform rote tasks, freeing humanity of 'better' things.

"Men in Trees."
ABC have released official descriptions of their pilots under consideration for the 2006-2007 season.
ABC will announce on Tuesday, May 16 which of its projects made the cut at its annual "upfront" presentation.
Here is the official description for "Men in Trees"
MEN IN TREES - Finding a good man in today's world isn't as difficult as some women think. You just have to watch out for the signs. You wouldn't drive with a blindfold on, but for some reason, women continue to date with one. Relationship coach Marin Frist (Anne Heche: "Everwood," "Six Days Seven Nights") knows what to look for, what to avoid, and what will make her happy. As the many fans of her two best-selling books could tell you, we're all in charge of our own happiness. Marin's personal happiness includes the upcoming wedding to her "perfect man." But like many people full of advice, Marin fails to apply it to herself. On her way to a speaking engagement in Alaska she learns that her fiancé has cheated on her...the wedding plans are instantly over. Slapped in the face with personal failure, she's now snowed in and stuck in a small town full of the one thing she really doesn't need: available men. Marin's friends and publisher try to lend long-distance support, but the fact remains Marin's been living with her eyes closed for too long. Now that they're finally open, she sees the amazingly beautiful world surrounding her, and, for the first time, she'll have the chance to stop and breathe. If she could get the raccoon out of her hotel room, this place might be perfect.
